Volunteering
The Hospice relies on a wide range of volunteers to support all
its services. The volunteers work as part of a team alongside paid
members of staff providing invaluable help. Some people prefer to
have patient contact whereas others like to support the hospice
in many different ways.
What kind of things do Volunteers
do for the Hospice?

Driving patients to and from the Hospice

Supporting the Day Hospice by preparing
drinks, setting tables, arranging flowers, washing up,
and talking with patients, etc

Helping prepare meals in the Kitchen

Gardening

Providing a range of Complementary Therapies

Providing Administration support

Supporting the Education Department

Providing Reception cover

Volunteering in one of our 8 charity
shops

Helping to raise funds in the local community
as part of one of 6 supporters groups

Questions & Answers
What Training is required? All new volunteers must
complete our one-day training programme which is normally held three
times a year.
How much Time do I give? This varies from person
to person. It can be as little as a one-off event to a regular commitment
every week, depending on the role.
Expenses? Out of pocket expenses incurred through
volunteering for Cotswold Care Hospice are reimbursed.

886868 or by downloading, completing and returning the Volunteer
Application forms. Please note there are two different application
forms - one for General
Volunteers and one for Complementary
Therapists.
