People could win £1,000 and help Cotswold Care Hospice at the same time with Gloucestershire’s newest weekly lottery.
Cotswold Care Hospice has launched a new lottery called Grand in your Hand.
There will be 12 guaranteed prizes a week – starting with £1,000 top prize. Up for grabs is also a rollover starting at £100 and topping £5,000. There is a £50 third prize and 10 £5 prizes.
Proceeds from Grand in your Hand will support Cotswold Care Hospice which helps 500 people a year with life-limiting illnesses and their families.
It costs £2.3 million a year to run the hospice. All of its services are provided free of charge. The hospice receives less than 10 per cent of its funding from the National Health Service.
“We want to reach even more people but to do that we need regular money that we know is coming in. That is why the lottery is so important to us,” said Peter Rowbottom, head of fundraising for the hospice.
“It only costs £1 a week and the odds of winning £1,000 are far better than the national lottery,” said Mr Rowbottom. “More money from every £1 Grand in your Hand lottery ticket goes directly to helping people than what goes to good causes with the National Lottery.”
Each weekly entry costs just £1 and you can buy as many entries as you like.
Once you have returned your application (see below to download a printable version) we will confirm receipt and allocate you a unique five-digit number which remains yours for as long as you wish.
Winning numbers will be posted here on the Cotswold Care main website, in our 10 charity shops and online at www.grandinyourhand.org.uk
There is no need to claim. Winners' prize cheques are sent out automatically.
The first draw will be September 10. To sign up for the lottery, log on to www.grandinyourhand.org.uk
