Cotswold Care Hospice understands the pressures and challenges people face when they care for a loved one.
During the hospice's carer relaxation days, we questionned carers about their needs and concerns.
Of the people who attend our carers' events, the majority are full-time carers and 80% care for someone on their own.
More than 65% of carers are concerned about their well-being and the psychological aspects of their role and would like more support. Sixty per cent of carers questionned would like help wih ways to relax and continue in their caring role.
Ninety per cent would like the opportunity to meet other carers on a regular basis to gain peer support. More than 50% of carers would like more information about the support they are entitled to.
