Life-threatening illness can affect everyone differently. Cotswold Care is here to help.
Some people may suffer physical pain and symptoms, for others the worries may be emotional and psychological. For many, the concerns may extend to those closest to them, friends and families.
At Cotswold Care Hospice we take time to listen to you, to explore your issues and needs, provide services to support you or signpost you to other services that may help.
Hospices are often thought of as places to die or only for people with cancer. Neither are true. While many people being supported by Cotswold Care have a cancer diagnosis an increasing number have other life-limiting conditions.
These may include conditions such a motor neurone disease, mesothelioma, multiple sclerosis, end stage heart disease as well as a range of other chronic diseases.
Palliative care is not just about care at the end of life. This is only one component of it, for some people with a degenerative disease care may stretch over many years. As a hospice we are constantly striving to find ways to support people with palliative care needs throughout their journey, at times of need.
At Cotswold Care Hospice we work as a team, we provide our care and support free of charge. The team is made up of a wide variety of individuals, including both paid staff and volunteers.
The Hospice works closely with other local hospitals, care homes, community teams, General Practitioners and specialist services. We believe this team and partnership approach offers the best model of care. Patients and carers are at the heart of our care provision.
This section of the website is designed to give patients and carers an overview and general introduction to hospice services, provide answers to some of the questions you may have about palliative care and about the services at Cotswold Care Hospice.
