Education is at the heart of Cotswold Care Hospice's mission to maximise the quality of life for those people and their families in Gloucestershire living with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses.
We achieve, this alongside direct patient services, by educating hospice staff and other groups involved in the provision of care to patients, families, friends and carers.
The Hospice Education Department aims to provide the highest possible, evidence-based palliative care education to all members of the multi-professional team, whether working within palliative care or generic settings.
The state-of-the-art education suite can accommodate up to 60 delegates and is equipped with the latest resources including a Palliative Care library.
The Education Department team consists of an education facilitator supported by an administrator with volunteers as well as a wide range of internal and external staff who have palliative care experience.
The team encourages an experimental style of learning and multidisciplinary working. The sessions may be organised by the hospice alone or by working in partnership with other health and social care professionals. Bespoke sessions can be discussed top accommodate individual needs.
Cotswold Care Hospice runs palliative care education programmes aimed at health and social care professionals as well as information for patients and their carers.
